National Gallery of Art Launches Open Access to its Collections
April 13, 2012
In March 2012, the National Gallery of Art launched its NGA Images database -- an open archive of digital images in the public domain from its collections that are freely available for public use without authorization. This important national initiative continues a movement toward open access for digital cultural content that includes Yale's Open Access Policy announced in May 2011, a collaborative effort between ODAI, Yale museums and libraries that is supported by Discover Yale Digital Content.
