ODAI Accepts DAMMY Award for Yale’s Digital Preservation Solution

October 3, 2012

What do Sesame Workshop, MediaMine and Yale University have in common? They are all 2012 winners of a DAMMY award recognizing superior achievement and leadership in the Digital Asset Management industry. ODAI is honored by the industry recognition of Yale’s solution in the category of best storage, archive and/or preservation solution.

ODAI recently released the Digital Preservation Service that allows any digital files, documents, images, audio and video stored in Yale’s Media Manager to be easily flagged for preservation. Once flagged, the service will automatically give digital files a regular “checkup” to make sure they are healthy, write the files to tape and maintain a copy of the tape in off-site storage to protect against a local catastrophe. Read the DAMMY Awards Submission for details.

The organization behind the DAMMY is Createasphere, a business development partner for technology enabled entertainment, marketing, and communications organizations. Createasphere was founded in 2001, and over the past decade has grown into a global company that in 2011 produced seventeen events in over three continents as well as five websites. Currently, Createasphere produces the Entertainment Technology Expos in Los Angeles; the Digital Asset Management Conference in New York, Los Angeles, and Europe; The DAMMY Awards in New York.
